Among the many games that I played growing up, I still play some of those games to this day. Master of Magic, originally released in 1994, is a timeless classic.

The original Heroes of Might and Magic was quite a success and New World Computing wasted no time in releasing a sequel in 1996. Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Succession Wars.
This game was actually the very first game I ever played in the Might and Magic franchise. I was just 12 years old when I first tried this game, and it left a lasting impression. I played this when visiting an uncle …View full article

Perhaps I just feel that way after having played through the first two installments, but this game has an interface that is intuitive.
This game features greatly improved graphics, an expanded interface. Instead of character names you now have portraits …View full article

In 1988, New World Computing released Might and Magic II: Gates to Another World. This is the second game in the Might and Magic series, and quite an improvement over the first. There is also a greater focus on game story. The manual for the game has a four page backstory, which give you a proper introduction to the world.
Playing through this game, it is very quickly obvious that there are not too many …View full article

Let's take a step back into simpler times. When nobody knew about fancy graphics, and games were really difficult to complete. Games did not distinguish between main and side quests, you really had to explore everything if you wanted to truly progress. Starting a new game meant that you had to expect death from every three out of four encounters. On second thought, it does not really seem like simpler times? Looking back, it seems …View full article
